This time last year, I was absolutely pinching myself after finding out Wilder Photography had been named a finalist in the Quirky Wedding Awards. And now here I am, twelve months later, pinching myself all over again. I’ve been selected as a finalist for the 2025 Quirky Wedding Awards in the Best Alternative Photographer category!
It’s been such a whirlwind year, full of challenges and growth, but being recognised again feels incredibly special. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing community of people who inspire me daily.
Why This Community Means Everything

The alternative wedding community isn’t just a space for creativity, it’s a lifeline. Time and time again, it restores my faith in humanity during what can only be described as difficult and divisive times politically.
The love I’ve seen pouring in from every direction, whether it’s standing up proudly for LGBTQIA+ rights or showing solidarity with those suffering in Gaza, reminds me that compassion and connection are stronger than any attempt to silence or divide us. Social media may try to bury posts when we speak about these things, but I truly believe it’s vital that we keep showing up and supporting one another. That’s what this community does so beautifully.
So to all of you lovely humans who make up the alt wedding world: thank you for existing, for showing kindness, and for reminding me every day of the good in people.
About the Quirky Wedding Awards
The Quirky Wedding Awards are the UK’s first awards created specifically for the alternative wedding industry. Rather than focusing on tradition, these awards celebrate the bold, creative, and inclusive suppliers who make weddings truly unique.
Finalists are chosen through a “secret shopper” process, where websites, social media, reviews, and overall ethos are considered. It’s not just about pretty pictures or clever marketing, it’s about the heart and integrity of a business. That’s why it feels so meaningful to be recognised here.

The National Final
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 20th November 2025, in Birmingham. The night promises live entertainment, a celebration of creativity, and the chance to meet so many other wonderful suppliers who are also doing things differently in the wedding world.
I honestly can’t wait to be in the room with so many inspiring people, whether it’s catching up with friends from last year or meeting new faces for the first time. If you’re attending, please come say hi.
